Information

The role of US in peripheral nerve imaging giving basic instructions on how to visualize the main neural structures. There will be a theoretical session, a live demo and ‘hands on’ session with a tutor.
Peripheral neural structures are not easy to visualize due to small dimensions and coarse variability; nevertheless, by means of the new High frequency probes it’s possible to evaluate structures which were almost invisible in the past.
Because of the growing interest of different medical fields (neurologist, neurophysiologist, orthopedics, traumatologist, pain therapist) this workshop aims at involving the different imaging experts in this diagnostic area (radiologist, US specialists). Formation of multidisciplinary teams (clinical/ imaging) will give better results.
Imaging in fact allows the evaluation of many different aspects of the region studied, besides the specific clinical area of interest, and allows for integration with other diagnostic methods facilitating diagnosis and therapeutic choice precision.
A part from the technical aspects of peripheral nerve study, this course purpose is to compare the different planning\organization criteria which could help the interdisciplinary relationship between the clinician and the radiologist.
