English for Healthcare Professionals – Online Language Platform

Hunimed Language Lab in partnership with Specialist Language Courses (SLC), a leading provider of English language training for healthcare professionals worldwide, offers a 3-month access to the platform at a discounted rate. You can choose among seven specialised healthcare courses.
Four courses are designed to boost your professional communication skills in your chosen field (Medicine, Nursing foundation, Nursing advanced, Radiography); one includes a structured path to prepare you for the Occupation English Test for doctors (Reach OET B Medicine); and two courses are designed to build grammar skills for accurate communication in healthcare contexts (Essential Grammar for Healthcare and Advanced Grammar for Healthcare).

Each licence provides 3 months of access to the SLC platform from the date of activation.

Description of courses

English for Doctors – Advanced Communication Skills
English for Doctors is a 120-hour professional English course at B2–C1 level, focusing on communication in English-speaking medical environments.
It covers language used across the patient journey, including diagnosis, treatment, and end-of-life care, through 16 comprehensive units.
The course includes vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and interactive speaking exercises with a strong practical and up-to-date focus.
Flexible and accessible on all devices, it allows self-paced study, with the option to download content and choose relevant units.

Reach OET B Medicine
Reach OET B Medicine is a flexible online course helping doctors achieve a B grade in the OET exam through expert language and skills training.
It includes 150+ hours of preparation, weekly live lessons, a video library, practice tests, and corrected Writing samples.
Optional one-to-one sessions with OET experts help target individual weaknesses for more focused improvement.
Subscribers benefit from continued live lesson access even after their course ends, supporting ongoing revision and success.

English for Nursing (Foundation)
English for Nursing Foundation is designed for A2–B1 level nursing students and professionals seeking a strong base in nursing-specific English.
It covers communication, medical terminology, and hospital language across key nursing scenarios like personal care, pain treatment, and infection control.
The course is rich in visuals, audio, and interactive features including voice recording, grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation practice.
Fully compatible with all devices, it offers a flexible and engaging learning experience tailored to lower-intermediate learners.

English for Nurses*
English for Nurses is a 120-hour course designed for B1–B2 level nurses working or studying in English-speaking healthcare settings.
It covers key nursing areas like patient care, medication, mental health, and end-of-life support across 13 flexible units.
The course builds communication, grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation skills through practical, interactive activities.
Accessible on all devices and downloadable for offline use, it offers self-paced learning tailored to your needs.

English for Radiography is a 30-hour online course designed for student and professional radiographers.

Accredited by the CPD Standards Office, it offers a recognised certificate upon completion.

Essential Grammar for Healthcare
Essential Grammar for Healthcare is an online course that builds core grammar skills for accurate communication in healthcare contexts.
It covers verb tenses, articles, adjectives, prepositions, and how to express advice, instructions, ability, and necessity.
The course uses videos, clear explanations, and contextualised practice to make grammar relevant to real medical situations.
By the end, learners gain confidence using grammar in speaking, writing, reading, and understanding healthcare-related English.

Advanced Grammar for Healthcare
